Spaces

Materima extends over 20000 square metres in Casalbeltrame, inside the naturalistic oasis of  Parco delle Lame di Sesia.

Image The new seat has been created through an accurate renovation of a typical Piedmont farmhouse. Works, begun in 1997 and lasted almost ten years, have restored and solidified the original structure enhancing particulars such as the wooden roof, brick vaults or pillars sustaining vaults.

The east wing of the farmhouse, former sharecroppers’ house, has been made over into a library collecting sculpture publications and into office premises. On the second floor are located modern guest rooms for Materima’s guests.

Two exhibition floor spaces of about 2000 square metres have been arranged in the north wing, which in the past was occupied by stables and barns. Materima includes also part of the historic Palazzo Bracorens de Savoireux intended to house the core collection of plaster casts.

In Casalbeltrame there are also five churchs, curiously built in line according to a decreasing order: the biggest one is for cult, while the second deconsecrated houses the chalcography.
